Cat Vasvari, CPFS

Residential House Manager / Peer Recovery Specialist

Cat serves as Residential House Manager for Untethered Recovery's structured housing programs and is often the person helping with the countless details and challenges that don't fit neatly into any one role. Whether supporting residents, assisting staff, or addressing day-to-day needs, Cat is known for stepping in wherever he's needed most. He is currently working toward becoming a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT).

Drawing from over 30 years of lived experience with active addiction and his own recovery journey, Cat brings authenticity, understanding, and hope to the individuals he serves. His positive experiences with peer support helped shape his belief in the power of connection and recovery. He approaches each person with a simple philosophy: meet people where they're at.

Cat often shares that his work gives him a sense of purpose and feels like a natural fit. Having witnessed what became possible when he "got out of his own way," he is passionate about helping others recognize their own potential for growth, healing, and transformation.

Outside of work, Cat enjoys volunteering at Flatirons Community Church, riding his motorcycle, and spending time in his faith community. His faith remains an important source of balance, grounding, and guidance in his life. While Cat considers himself an open book and doesn't keep much hidden, many people are surprised to learn just how central his faith is to who he is.

One quote that continues to inspire him is:

"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."— Friedrich Nietzsche
