Amanda Phillips, CPFS
Group Facilitator / Peer Recovery Specialist
Amanda serves as a Peer Support Specialist at Untethered Recovery, where she brings both professional training and powerful lived experience to the individuals she supports. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and working toward her Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) credential.
Amanda's journey into recovery support was shaped by her own experiences with addiction, incarceration, and family reunification. After spending time in and out of prison and navigating a difficult CPS case that nearly resulted in the loss of her daughter, Amanda found purpose in helping others overcome the same challenges she once faced. Those experiences ignited her passion for recovery work and continue to fuel her commitment to helping others find hope and healing.
She is especially passionate about supporting mothers, families, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Amanda volunteers her time working with mothers at Adams County Jail and is deeply committed to helping women strengthen their relationships with their children while building healthy, recovery-focused lives.
Amanda's favorite part of her work is witnessing the moment when clients begin to believe in themselves and embrace growth. She approaches every client with honesty, compassion, and authenticity, believing that meaningful change begins when people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Integrity is one of the values that guides her work each day—doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending quality time with her daughter, baking, going to the gym, practicing self-care, and spending time outdoors. Maintaining a healthy routine helps her stay grounded and balanced, even during life's more challenging seasons.
Amanda believes that recovery is possible for anyone willing to keep showing up and doing the work, and she is honored to walk alongside others as they discover their own strength, purpose, and potential.
