Acacia Bernstein, CPFS

Executive Assistant to the CEO / Intake Coordinator

Acacia serves as Untethered Recovery's Executive Assistant to the CEO and Intake Coordinator, where she is often one of the first people individuals and families connect with when seeking support. She is a Certified Peer Support Specialist and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work.

Acacia's passion for recovery work is deeply rooted in her own lived experience. With more than three years of sobriety, she understands firsthand the challenges, setbacks, and victories that can come with building a new life in recovery. Her journey has inspired her commitment to helping others discover that lasting change is possible, no matter where they are starting from.

She is especially passionate about supporting individuals who feel like life has handed them a difficult set of circumstances—those who see themselves as the underdog, feel stuck, or believe things never seem to work out in their favor. Acacia believes everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard, and supported as they work toward a healthier future.

One of her favorite parts of the job is connecting with people from all walks of life and knowing she may have made a positive difference in someone's day. She approaches her work through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that every person's story matters and that compassion and understanding can be powerful tools for healing.

If Acacia had to choose one recovery power word, it would be "Resilience." She believes recovery is not about perfection—it's about continuing to move forward, even when life gets difficult.

Outside of work, Acacia enjoys shopping, camping, traveling, trying new restaurants, watching movies, and spending time with her puppy, Rudy. These simple joys help her stay balanced, connected, and grateful in her own recovery journey.

When people first walk through Untethered Recovery's doors, Acacia wants them to know they are not alone. Help is available, and change is possible. As someone who has walked her own recovery path, she believes that if she can do it, anyone can. One of her favorite reminders is, "It's not a race—it's a lifestyle."
