Founder & CEO – Untethered Recovery
Adam Kimber founded Untethered Recovery with a simple belief: people struggling with addiction are not broken—they are buried under the weight of it.
Addiction often leaves people feeling hopeless, ashamed, and disconnected from who they once were. Adam’s approach to treatment is strength-based, focusing on helping people rediscover the strengths, talents, and purpose that still exist underneath those layers. His goal is to help clients reconnect with their core identity and begin building a life that feels meaningful again.
Recovery is deeply personal for Adam. After overcoming alcohol use disorder himself, he understands the pain, isolation, and fear that addiction creates—but he also knows that lasting recovery is possible. Adam believes addiction is absolutely treatable, and his role is to help people see the pathway to healing, fulfillment, and freedom.
Adam is a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Colorado and integrates evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. For clients who desire it, he is also comfortable incorporating faith and spiritual principles into treatment.
He holds a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Arts in Ministry, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction.
