Adam Kimber
M.A., M.S., LAC

Adam is the CEO/Executive Clinical Director of the newly founded Untethered Recovery located in Arvada Colorado, a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in the state of Colorado, and a third year PhD student in Psychology with emphasis in Cognition and Instruction at Grand Canyon University. He holds a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, Master of Arts in Ministry from American Christian College and Seminary, and a Bachelor of Theology from Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver.

Adam has worked as a youth and pulpit minister in southern California for 12 years and 13 years in B2B advertising sales as a regional sales manager, director of national accounts, publisher, and group publisher. He has extensive experience working as a clinical therapist in a treatment center which offers a full continuum of service beginning with medical detoxification and ending with general outpatient services.

Adam is well-versed in the Bible and will incorporate it into treatment if the client would like. His theoretical orientation centers in evidenced based modalities consisting of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, ACT, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Adam’s license allows him to diagnose and treat substance use and co-occurring disorders such as major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder to name a few. 

Adam has personal experience with alcohol use disorder has over 5 years of sobriety from it. He attributes his sobriety to his faith and believes many people relapse because they have not developed this essential component into their healing plan. His approach is empathetic, compassionate, and motivational.
